有輪動物門 Cycliophora Funch & Kristensen, 1995
- 概略
- ノルウェー近海の大西洋に産するアカザエビ近縁種の口器に外部寄生するSymbion pandora１種のみが知られる。無性生殖と有性生殖を繰り返し，矮雄を生ずる複雑な生活史をもつ。
- はじめ，形態が類似していることからワムシ類との類縁が示唆されたが，後に，曲形動物と外肛動物との類縁を支持するものとされた (Funch & Kristensen, 1995)。ところが，さらに後に，曲形動物との類縁のみに仮説が改められた (Funch & Kristensen, 1997)。一方，分子データは当初示唆されたワムシ類との類縁を示している (Winnepennincks, Backeljau and Kristensen, 1998)。
